The 2007 WAAPA Music Theatre graduates will perform two shows at the Statement Cabaret Lounge in Sydney next week in what will be their final time on stage together as a group.

Three years of intense training in singing, acting, dancing and spinal rolls have transformed these young enthusiastic performers into polished, strong and confident triple threats, who are bursting at the seams to be baptised into the world of professional theatre having just seen the lights of Broadway.

These future musical theatre stars will showcase their individual talents as well as performing group numbers with songs ranging from Sondheim to Ben Folds Five plus a few originals.

Chrystal De Grussa, Gemma-Ashley Kaplan, Kathryn Sgroi, Suzanne Mathers, Stephanie Morrison, Vanessa Raspa, Elizabeth Styles, Eliza Anderson, Bradley Carroll, Gareth Keegan, Keane Fletcher, Brent Dolahenty, Zack Curran, Stuart Fisher, Lachlan Gillespie, Matthew McFarlane, Bernard Angel and Caleb Rixon will all perform in the show.

In his first performance since wowing New York, one of Australia's finest performers, Tyran Parke has heard so many cast albums that he descends into fantasy and becomes convinced he is a knight errant of Cabaret. Together with his travelling companion Nigel Ubrihien, the self-styled Don Quixote sets out in search of hilarious adventures while battling the windmills of his mind....

Along the journey Tyran will charge headstrong into the dangerous terrain of Gershwin, Sondheim, Lloyd Webber, Peggy Lee, U2, Dolly Parton and Playschool but live to fight another battle and of course sing another number.

Featuring an array of well-known standards as well as a selection of rarities, Newcastle-born Erin presents songs from her showcase performance that wowed some of New York cabaret's biggest names.

A graduate of the Talent Development Project (2002), Erin was a recent recipient of the Bound For Broadway (TDP/ASCAP) scholarship which saw her embark on a four week tour to New York City. Her scholarship involved master classes and workshops with industry professionals and culminated in a solo cabaret showcase presentation at Don’t Tell Mama, NY.

A comedy cabaret about an Aussie girl who discovers that she’s 1/49th Chinese.

Lin Gon Wong goes to China to discover her roots. She gets kidnapped by the Phat brothers in Hong Kong and ends up working in a dumpling factory in Macau. Then she stows away on a junk and finds herself in a Shanghai nightclub called “The Hot Wok”. She uses fortune cookies to guide her through her journey. As one of them says: “Don’t get even, get odd!”

Songs include Road to Hong Kong, Slow Boat to China, Come to the Supermarket in Old Peking, YMCA and I Like Chinese.

In the irreverent tradition of Aussie larrikinism, this show can hardly be described as politically correct, nor is it likely to appeal to the prudish. However, Lyn’s considerable charm and deft comedic skills, honed over many years of working major cabaret venues throughout Australia, make this a show sure to win over all but the stoniest of hearts.

Saskia's recent stage credits include Cabaret, Dirty Dancing and the Bell Shakespeare Company's production of The Tempest, playing Ariel to John Bell's Prospero. In 2005 she studied in New York and Paris with tutors including Micheline van Heutem, Caroline Nin and Ulli Geisendorfer, Ute Lemper's former musical director.

After a sell-out season last year at the Old Fitzroy Theatre, HEART WITH A GIRL OF GOLD comes to the Statement Bar to take a deeper look at what lies in our hearts; how they work, why they stop working, what they feel and remember and - of course - the heart's experience of the perils of love. Saskia's recent stage credits include Cabaret, Dirty Dancing and the Bell Shakespeare Company's production of The Tempest, playing Ariel to John Bell's Prospero. In 2005 she studied in New York and Paris with tutors including Micheline van Heutem, Caroline Nin and Ulli Geisendorfer, Ute Lemper's former musical director.
